PHOENIX — Two police officers riding in a police cruiser were involved in a crash at a north Phoenix intersection Wednesday.
Phoenix police said a marked patrol car with the two uniformed officers was struck by a truck near 19th and Dunlap avenues around 4:30 a.m.
According to officials, both officers were taken to the hospital with injuries. The driver of the truck reportedly showed signs of intoxication and was transported to the hospital for DUI processing and medical treatment.
Police did not identify the two officers or the truck driver involved in the crash.
The intersection of 19th Avenue and Dunlap was closed for several hours in the morning, but the roadway has since been reopened.
