A second night of heavy rain doused metro Phoenix Aug. 26, but this one didn't have the powerful dust storm and national fanfare from the day before.
The storm was also more geographically selective, flooding parts of the north Valley but leaving other areas bone dry.
A portion of Phoenix near Cactus and Cave Creek roads received 1.06 inches during the 24 hours through 5 a.m. Aug. 27, the Flood Control District of Maricopa County reported. A bit further west, Greenway Road and 7 th Avenue, also in north Phoenix, got 0.94 of an inch, as did the area near Roeser Street and 67 th Avenue in the southwest Valley.
