PORTAGE, Mich. — No one was seriously hurt in a crash involving a car vs. a school bus in Portage on Wednesday morning.

That's according to the Portage Department of Public Safety.

The crash happened on Centre Avenue near Newells Lane around 8 a.m., where a 53-year-old driver crashed into the back of a Portage Public Schools bus that was stopped.

Six students were on board at the time of the crash and were not hurt. The car's driver had minor injuries and was treated at the scene.

The road was closed for about an hour while wreckers cleared the scene. It has since reopened.

The crash remains under investigation.
