Some businesses and city services will be operating with limited hours for the holiday, meanwhile events are taking place across Calgary

Calgary is approaching a week of high temperatures ahead of Labour Day long weekend, with the heat expected to last the duration of the weekend.

Environment and Climate Change Canada has issued a special weather statement for most of the province warning for what the agency calls a “long duration heat event,” with temperatures expected to range from 29 to 33 C.

The city has events and activities scheduled all weekend to celebrate Alberta Day and Labour Day.

Some city services and businesses will be closed or operating with limited hours for the holidays.
