For a young Skyview team, those who do have experience will take responsibility for ushering in the next era of Storm football.
That’s why a trio of linebackers have taken the leadership reins.
David Dudko, Tyallen Edmon and Toren Baker all started as sophomores last season. They took the field alongside nine seniors who earned first-team all-league honors as Skyview reached the Class 4A quarterfinals for a second consecutive year.
“They’ve taken hold of where those seniors left,” head coach Matt Hamlin said.
Hamlin too is new in his position. He takes over for Steve Kizer, who retired after 40-plus years of coaching, the last 21 seasons at Skyview.
Almost every position group enters the season with players short on varsity experience. Not so for Hamlin’s linebackers.
