PEORIA, Ill. (WMBD) -- A man was hospitalized after being hit by a car Tuesday night in the East Bluff.

Officers with the Peoria Police Department were called to the intersection of East Fry and North Wisconsin avenues at 9:47 p.m. to a report of a collision, said police spokeswoman Semone Roth.

When officers arrived, they found a man had been hit by a car and was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, she said.

Roth said the car was later stopped by the police, and the woman driving, who allegedly hit the man, was arrested and taken to the Peoria County Jail.

The names of the driver and victim, as well as any charges, have not been released at this time. It is also unclear if the woman remains in jail at this time.

No update was given on the man's condition.
