President Donald Trump issued a joint call for prayer following the school shooting in Minneapolis, Minnesota Wednesday morning.
“I have been fully briefed on the tragic shooting in Minneapolis, Minnesota,” Trump wrote on his social media platform Truth Social. “The FBI quickly responded and they are on the scene. The White House will continue to monitor this terrible situation. Please join me in praying for everyone involved!”
Early reports suggest at least one person has died and six were wounded from the shooting, which took place at Annunciation Catholic School in Minneapolis. Law enforcement did report that the suspected shooter “is deceased,” per CNN.
Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz was also briefed on the shooting, and said that both the Bureau of Criminal Apprehension and the Minnesota State Patrol were at the scene.
“I’m praying for our kids and teachers whose first week of school was marred by this horrific act of violence,” Walz wrote in a
social media post on X.
