Seven people are facing federal charges accusing them of running large-scale narcotics and racketeering conspiracies in the Newburgh and Middletown areas, and one is also accused of murder and attempted murder in connection with the death of a bystander during a 2019 gunfight in Newburgh .

The drugs allegedly came from Mexico, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Southern District of New York.
