LOGAN, Ohio —

A pretty wild find was caught on camera at one of Ohio's state parks this past week.

The Ohio Department of Natural Resources posted a video of the nearly 6-foot ratsnake found slithering in Hocking Hills State Park. Advertisement

According to ODNR, the snake was found along the Gorge Trail.

"These forest-dwelling snakes are accomplished climbers and you can often find them high in trees," ODNR said in the post.

The species is Ohio's largest snake, typically four to six feet long. Some have been known to grow longer than eight feet, according to the Ohio Division of Wildlife.

The snake can be found throughout most of Ohio, with the exception of most of northwest Ohio. They're usually found in high trees, taking shelter in woodpecker holes and other cavities.
