The Virginia Department of Health’s Chief Medical Examiner ruled that 21-year-old Angelina Petra Resendiz’s cause and manner of death was undetermined

Resendiz’s body was found by the NCIS on June 9 in an off-base wooded area in Norfolk several days after she was last seen on May 29

Her family said that the "circumstances" in which she was found "remain deeply troubling,” and "closure cannot come until the truth is revealed"

The cause of death of a sailor who disappeared from her Virginia Navy base in May and was found dead days later has been released.
