WOBURN, Mass. —

A convicted killer is scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday in connection with a violent beating death and an intentional overdose that happened more than a decade ago in Massachusetts.

Kevin Lino, 38, formerly of Lowell, is accused of two acts of first-degree murder. He is already serving a life sentence in connection with a second-degree murder conviction in Suffolk County and concurrently serving a 40-year sentence for a homicide in Montana.

The two new charges stem from an investigation that began in 2018, when Massachusetts State Police, which was looking into a different case, learned of Lino's possible involvement.
