BOSSIER CITY, La. (KTAL/KMSS) - Shreveport native Bryant Bowen has been hired as Bossier Parish Community College's new assistant baseball coach.

Bowen was a member of Eastern Kentucky University's baseball coaching staff for the previous five seasons. He started as a volunteer assistant and worked his way up to full-time assistant coach before serving as Director of Player Development.

Bowen joins a BPCC team on the heels of a Region XIV North Division title, the program's first conference championship in its 25-year history.

"I'm extremely grateful for the opportunity to return home and begin this new chapter of my career at BPCC," Bowen said. "As someone who grew up playing baseball in this community, it's an honor to give back and work with such a dedicated coaching staff and talent
