THE Seattle Seahawks have brutally cut Patrick Mahomes' former teammate ahead of the 2025 season.

The wide receiver won two Super Bowls with the Kansas City Chiefs in 2022 and 2023.

The Seattle Seahawks have released veteran wide receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling, as reported by Tom Pelissero of the NFL Network.

He had been battling for the Seahawks' WR3 gig behind Jaxon Smith-Njigba and Cooper Kupp.

However, it looks like rookie Tory Horton may have beaten him to the job.

Valdes-Scantling joined Seattle on March 12, 2025, signing a one-year $5.5 million contract.

The 30-year-old may have failed to make the cut, but he could be retained in the practice squad, depending on other interest.
