QUINCY, Fla. (WCTV) - Quincy City Clerk Janice Shackelford made her first court appearance Wednesday morning after being accused of fraud and misuse of public office .
During the court hearing, a judge set her bail at $38,000. Additionally, she is not allowed to have contact with anyone at City Hall, any witnesses, or former City Manager Rob Nixon.
The 62-year-old’s court appearance comes after she was arrested Tuesday morning, according to the State Attorney’s Office. She faces several charges, including forgery, uttering, organized scheme to defraud, grand theft, misuse of public office and violating the Florida public records law.
