TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) - On day four of testimony in Donna Adelson’s murder trial , the jury was asked to follow the phone calls, texts, and other communications that link the co-conspirators in the 2014 murder-for-hire of Florida State Professor Dan Markel .

They also heard testimony alleging Donna Adelson talked with her son, Charlie Adelson, about arranging a “birthday present” for Donna’s husband, Harvey Adelson.

“I know you’ll come through,” the South Florida mother texted Charlie Adelson in March 2014 about securing a “birthday present.” Prosecutors believe the two were talking in code about arranging Markel’s murder.
