Determined Bob MacIntyre has set an immediate post-Ryder Cup target of ending a two-decade Scots drought at the Dunhill Links Championship. ‌

The Obar star will head straight back to his homeland after the Bethpage cracker to take part in the October showpiece at St Andrews, Kingsbarns and Carnoustie. ‌

MacIntyre will lead the home challenge hoping to become the first Scot since Colin Montgomerie in 2005 to win the event, with Stephen Gallacher and Paul Lawrie also former victors in 2004 and 2001. ‌

The 29-year-old says it’s been too long since a home hero triumped at the Dunhill and he’s aiming to back up his success at last year’s Genesis Scottish Open by coming out on top again on his own soil.
