VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. — A pedestrian has died after a crash on Independence Boulevard in Virginia Beach.

Officers responded to the crash in the 2200 block, not far from Princess Anne Road, just before 1 a.m. on Wednesday, according to a release from the Virginia Beach Police Department.

Morgan Babecki, a 29-year-old resident of Virginia Beach, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say the driver stayed on the scene and cooperated with investigators. No charges are anticipated.
