RICHMOND, Va. (WWBT) - A post office in Carytown is temporarily closed after a small electrical fire broke out last week.
According to United States Postal Service Officials, no one was hurt in the fire, which only slightly damaged the Stewart Post Office and postal property. They are working on repairs now.
In the meantime, retail and P.O. Box services have been moved about two miles away to the Westhampton Post Office at 805 Glen Burnie Road.
Stewart P.O. Box customers can pick up mail and packages during Westhampton business hours, Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
USPS officials say they are working with the property owner to reopen the Stewart Post Office.
