ENGLEWOOD — Two police officers and two suspects were injured during a car chase that included a crash and shots fired, according to reports.

About 5 a.m. Wednesday, an officer-in-distress call was made from the 5800 block of South Shields Avenue in an incident that included shots fired at police and by police, a chase and drivers hitting at least one officer and a suspect, according to the Sun-Times.

The officers were not seriously injured, and they were taken to local hospitals, said Fire Department spokesman Larry Merritt.

Two suspects were in custody and have been hospitalized with injuries, according to the Sun-Times.
