VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) - A man is reported dead after a crash in the 2200 block of S. Independence Blvd. involving a pedestrian Wednesday morning, according to the Virginia Beach Police Department.

The accident happened around 12:59 a.m. and officers arrived on scene to find the victim, 29-year-old Morgan Babecki, dead on scene.

The driver of the involved vehicle stayed on scene and cooperated with investigators. No charges are expected for the incident.
