CHESAPEAKE, Va. (WAVY) — Chesapeake's traffic calming program aims to cut down on dangerous speeding in the city. According to its page on Chesapeake's website, the program slows traffic without limiting access. Earl Sorey, Chesapeake's Director of Public Works, thought speeding didn't have a simple solution.
“These things aren't one size fits all," Sorey said.
The program's four phases have made it successful. Residents and groups submitting requests on the online service request system fuels phase one.
