CHARLOTTE — The Panthers claimed a pair of players off waivers Wednesday afternoon, filling a need and adding another developmental receiver to the roster.

The Panthers claimed former Broncos cornerback Damarri Mathis and former Chargers wide receiver Dalevon Campbell.

Mathis, a former fourth-round pick in 2022 out of Pitt, has appeared in 43 games with 18 starts.

Of that experience, 11 of the starts came in 2022 for the Broncos, when Panthers coordinator Ejiro Evero was there.

Campbell, an undrafted rookie from South Carolina, had good numbers in camp with the Chargers this summer.

In three preseason games with the Chargers, he caught seven passes for 135 yards (19.3 per reception).
