Flags have started appearing at roundabouts and on roads across Nottinghamshire in recent days.

It follows a string of anti-illegal immigration protests which counter-protesters have labelled as 'far right'.

England flags have been painted on zebra crossings and broken road markings in Bilsthorpe.

A St George's Cross was also spray painted on a mini roundabout in Bassetlaw.

It is unclear whether Nottinghamshire County Council - which is the highways authority - will remove the displays.
