Drugs and a ghost gun were found during a Thruway traffic stop on the morning of August 25, state police said.

At around 11:40 a.m., officers conducted a traffic stop on a 2008 Jeep traveling on Interstate 87 in the Town of Plattekill. During the stop, troopers identified the driver as 25-year-old Jessiah J. Haynes and the front seat passenger as 31-year-old Ashley L. Guilder, both residents of Amsterdam, NY. Authorities determined that Haynes was operating the vehicle with a suspended driver’s license.

A New York State Police K9 unit performed an exterior search of the vehicle, which resulted in a positive alert for narcotics. A subsequent search led to the discovery of approximately 149 grams of cocaine and an unregistered Polymer 80 9mm semi-automatic handgun, commonly referred to as
