LOGAN – The upcoming performance by the Canadian trio the Wailin’ Jennys at the Ellen Eccles Theatre will actually be a return engagement for one of their vocalists.
The lovely Heather Masse previously graced the Eccles’ stage on Aug. 4, when radio personality Garrison Keillor introduced her as one of his favorite duet partners during a surprising song-filled show here.
Ms. Masse harmonized beautifully with Keillor throughout the evening, but her most memorable contribution was an ethereal solo rendition of “Summertime” from the George Gershwin musical Porgy and Bess .
While performing here with Nicky Mehta and Ruth Moody as the Wailin’ Jennys , however, their repertoire will focus on the folk music that has won the ensemble international acclaim.
