MARTINEZ — She went out through the bathroom window, and evaded deputies who searched the hospital grounds for any trace of her.
But now this 27-year-old Concord resident is in jail, being held without bail, after picking up a felony escape charge, court records show.

It all started Aug. 21, as a seemingly routine check-in with a woman who was serving a jail sentence for burglary and petty theft, but had been allowed to enter a custody alternative program by the Contra Costa Sheriff’s Office.
