Massachusetts native Elizabeth Banks will play Karen Read in a new limited series for Prime Video, according to multiple reports.

Deadline first reported that Banks would star in the Prime Video and Warner Brothers Television series, although the Hollywood Reporter and Variety have since confirmed the news.

The show will be run by Justin Noble, who most recently worked on HBO's "The Sex Lives of College Girls" and has written for multiple other well known series. Noble, David E. Kelley and Banks will serve as executive producers.

The series will be based on the Law & Order and Wondery podcast "Karen," which chronicled the high-profile Massachusetts murder case.
