LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) - For decades, people living in the Russell and Portland area have had to overcome obstacles just to be healthy. The area is known as a pharmacy desert. Things like getting medicine are hard when pharmacies are far away and there is a lack of transportation.

The owners of Good Brothers Pharmacy say it’s more than a business. It’s a promise of convenience and connection for people living in West Louisville. They have been working on opening their business for more than 5 years.

“Families here deserve more than to travel miles to get their medication,” Isaiah Jones, co-founder of Good Brothers Pharmacy, said.
