The Washington Commanders have announced jersey number changes for four players, including quarterback Marcus Mariota's return to the No. 8 that he wore throughout his college career and the beginning of his NFL career.

Mariota, who drafted by the Tennessee Titans with the No. 2 overall pick in the 2015 NFL Draft, put together one of the best campaigns in Oregon history while wearing No. 8. He recorded 10,796 passing yards with 105 touchdowns, both of which are program records in three seasons with the Ducks. He collected dozens of accolades in his career, including the Heisman Trophy in 2014 for leading the Pac-12 with 4,454 passing yards with 770 rushing yards and 57 total touchdowns.
