World number five Jack Draper has withdrawn from the US Open due to discomfort in his arm. The world number five was due to face off against Zizou Bergs in his second round match tomorrow.

After a disappointing Wimbledon campaign where he lost in the second round to Marin Cilic, he took an extended break from the game to recover and let his injury heal before an important period at the end of the season.

He was unable to compete in the DC Open, Canadian Open, and the Cincinnati Open before travelling to New York to take part in the revamped US Open mixed doubles event. He had partnered up with American number two Jessica Pegula, and they managed to reach the semi-finals, losing out to eventual runners-up Casper Ruud and Iga Swiatek.
