Jack Draper has withdrawn from the 2025 U.S. Open amid speculation about his ability to compete.

The 23-year-old British tennis player left the competition on Wednesday (August 27), the USTA confirmed in an announcement.

As a result, his planned opponent in the second round of the competition, Zizou Bergs , will move forward on a walkover.

He later clarified the reasoning in a post on social media.

“Hi guys, I’m sorry to say I’ll be withdrawing from the US Open,” he confirmed on X.

Hi guys, I’m sorry to say I’ll be withdrawing from the US open. I tried my very best to be here and give myself the every chance to play but the discomfort in my arm has become to much and I have to do what is right and look after myself. Thank you for all the support.
