(Reuters) -The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has approved updated COVID-19 vaccines for all people aged 65 and older and for people under 65 with higher health risks, the U.S. health secretary said on Wednesday.
The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services did not immediately respond to a Reuters request for comment. The three approved shots are made by Pfizer with German partner BioNTech, Moderna, and Novavax.
Pfizer said the emergency use authorization for its COVID vaccine for children under age 5 had been rescinded.
Moderna’s shot was approved for ages 6 months and up, Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. said. Moderna was not immediately available for comment.
Pfizer and BioNTech’s updated version of Comirnaty was approved for everyone 65 and over, as well as in individu
