GAINESVILLE — As a two-way player in high school, UF tailback Jadan Baugh had to do it all — and he did it well.
Baugh had to wait his turn to play the position he loved.
These days, it’s hard to believe Baugh, the Gators’ sophomore rising star , was destined to do anything other than run the football. But at Decatur Columbia, a small 2A school east of Atlanta, he served as a backup to 1,000-yard rusher Royce Tolbert until Baugh was a senior, so he found other ways to help the Eagles.
“ I played safety, outside linebacker, sometimes D-end, running back, quarterback, receiver and returner,” Baugh recalled recently. “It helped me a lot, just seeing the field in different ways.”
Baugh’s rare versatility didn’t help his case for a scholarship offer.
