PEORIA ( 25News Now ) - After a pair of shootings last week near Peoria’s Manual High School, the school board president is calling for the board to reconsider adding metal detectors to the district’s three high schools.
In mid-July, the school board decided not to rent weapon detection technology from a company called Evolv . That technology was tested at Richwoods for four days in May.
Board President Gregory Wilson called for the board to test out more technology.
“I think we need to get that piloted and then maybe look at our options and see about getting that back on the agenda,” said Wilson.
