BATON ROUGE, La. (KALB) - The Office of Louisiana Attorney General Liz Murrill announced the filing of a brief in Louisiana v. Callais on Wednesday, August 27.
SCOTUS is set to hear arguments in the case on October 15, and will ultimately decide if Louisiana’s latest congressional maps violate the 14th and 15th Amendments, respectively.
The case could bring national implications as to how states draw their congressional maps in the future.
According to the AG’s office, Solicitor General Benjamin Aguiñaga will argue on behalf of Louisiana.
