OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - Two men were arrested Wednesday after leading authorities on a high-speed chase in Omaha, according to the Nebraska State Patrol.

The NSP reported at about 12:45 a.m., a trooper saw a vehicle speeding on Highway 75 north of downtown Omaha.

A trooper attempted a traffic stop, but the suspect vehicle fled northbound while the Omaha Police Department’s helicopter Able 1 joined the pursuit.

The vehicle was tracked for about 50 minutes while the suspect vehicle nearly struck other cars, investigators said.

Stop sticks were deployed on I-480 near 14th Street and the vehicle came to a stop.

The driver attempted to flee on foot but was apprehended while the passenger remained in the car, authorities said.
