A 19-year-old man was fatally wounded shortly before noon Wednesday in the Austin neighborhood on the city’s West Side, Chicago police said.
The victim was standing on the sidewalk in the 5200 block of West Gladys Avenue when he was approached by two people who opened fire in his direction. He was struck to the hit and also suffered multiple shots to the body, police said.
He was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital where he was pronounced dead. No one was in custody for the fatal shooting, and detectives were investigating.
Overnight, another man was fatally wounded in the same neighborhood.
