KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - A Kansas City man who embezzled more than $600,000 from his employer has been sentenced in federal court.
On Wednesday, 41-year-old Jeremy M. Ubben was sentenced to 33 months in federal prison and three additional years of supervised release. Ubben was also ordered to pay $612,000 in restitution to his former employer, more than $125,000 to the IRS, and over $27,000 to the State of Missouri.
Ubben pled guilty on Feb. 5, 2025, to one count of wire fraud, one count of income tax evasion and one count of money laundering. He admitted that he embezzled money from his law firm employer between March 2023 and August 2024.
