HOUSTON (CW39) — Harris County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a major crash Wednesday afternoon in the 4200 block of Fellows Road near Cullen in southeast Houston.

According to Sheriff Ed Gonzalez who posted details around 2:30 p.m., a METRO Police sergeant was riding a motorcycle as part of an escort when he was seriously injured and rushed to the hospital in critical condition.

In his latest update, Sheriff Gonzalez said "the sergeant is in serious but stable condition and is expected to survive his injuries."
