AIKEN, S.C. (WRDW/WAGT) - Local students joined thousands across the state in College Application Month, where they are meeting with advisors and college reps to figure out where they want to go once they graduate.
“I was thinking either USC Columbia or, as of today, Winthrop,” said Jayden Broughton, a student.
The South Carolina Commission on Higher Education kicked off the month by addressing students’ needs in person at South Aiken High School on Wednesday.
“Even though they might not have known that they had the opportunity to go to college, it starts now,” said Kathy Rollins, college access program manager for the South Carolina Commission on Higher Education.
