On July 28, the University of Michigan’s School of Public Health announced its Epidemiological Sciences PhD program will be paused for the 2025-2026 admissions cycle in direct response to President Donald Trump’s federal budget cuts to clinical research and graduate programs. Students who are set to begin in the fall 2025 semester will continue their studies as scheduled, but the following prospective cohort will not be able to begin until further notice.

Like most graduate programs, the Rackham Graduate School requires all graduate students to receive full funding in order to be admitted.
