JACKSON, Mich. (WLNS) -- In celebration of the schools upcoming 50th anniversary, the Jackson Career Center is expanding, and officials say the new additions will add modernized offices for staff, improve student safety, and upgrade campus parking.

Work is almost complete on a new dedicated main entryway and multiple parking areas, which Assistant Principal Lauren Kyser says are badly needed.

"All of these things we think will provide better opportunities for students," Kyser said.

At the center, students can choose from a panel of industry-certified programs involving hands-on learning experiences. Kyser says the upgrades to the main office will be the most important change to the school.
