JACKSON, MI – Quietly and with little emotion, Leonard Hugall sat Wednesday in the Jackson County Jail attending his first court hearing via Zoom in the death of his stepdaughter more than 40 years ago.

Hugall, 74, was arraigned Aug. 27 on a charge of felony murder . He is accused of raping and killing Kelly Jean Harris, 13, allegedly under the guise of taking her to the 1984 Jackson County Fair.
