FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) - Two people were injured after police say a driver mistakenly pressed on the accelerator instead of the brake, causing the car to drive up onto the patio at Fresno's Fig Garden Village.

Officers say the crash took place on Wednesday at around 10:40 a.m., outside "La Boulangerie" at Fig Garden Village. The two people who were hit were sitting in the patio area at the time of the collision.

Pictures from the scene show damaged brickwork on the patio area between the parking lot and the store itself.

The identity of the driver was not officially released. No further information about the incident was provided by Fresno Police.
