With Generation X growing old, the real game for Deion Sanders, Troy Calhoun and Jay Norvell is to beat the clock.

Gray has firmly taken root in the beards of the three coaches that lead our state’s major college football programs.

None of them have time to waste to lead the Buffaloes, Falcons and Rams to glory. There needs to be a sense of urgency in the coaching of Calhoun, Sanders and Norvell, all in charge of programs that feel like 6-6 teams waiting to happen in 2025.

In the past year, Sanders has survived a cancer scare, while Calhoun struggled through the most difficult season of his long Air Force tenure and I’m convinced Norvell was a single defeat away from being shown the door by Colorado State.
