SOUTHAVEN, Miss. (WMC) - Southaven officials discussed in detail the shooting death of 52-year-old comedian Reginald Carroll on Wednesday.

District Attorney Matthew Barton and Southaven Police Chief Seth Kern held the presser but had few new details to share. He said at this stage, they can’t share many details to protect the integrity of the investigation.

On Wednesday, Aug. 20, the Southaven Police Department said that an isolated shooting in a local subdivision led to the eventual death of a male victim, identified as Carroll.

“This is not an indication that there’s a problem in that community or neighborhood,” Barton said. “This is not indicative of a violent crime issue in our city.”
