MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) - A man has been sentenced to 15 years in prison for his role in possessing ammunition in connection with a homicide in 2023.

On February 18, 44-year-old Korea McKay shot and killed Davao Thomas, according to evidence that was presented at the trial.

The shooting took place after Thomas had told McKay to slow down at the Kirby Estates apartment complex.

McKay drove away from the scene in a truck, which was found hidden behind a trailer in Dundee, Mississippi, a few days later.

After he was released from state custody on a state arrest warrant for murder, a federal complaint was issued. He was arrested for felon-in-possession of a firearm related to a prior DeSoto County arrest in 2020.
