The U.S. Coast Guard seized a record 76,140 pounds of illicit narcotics in Florida, the largest quantity ever offloaded in USCG history, the agency said Monday.

The narcotics were offloaded by USCG in Port Everglades, Florida, as the result of 19 interdictions in the Eastern Pacific Ocean and Caribbean Sea between June and August, according to a USCG news release . The largest interdiction occurred on July 23, when USCG Cutter Hamilton seized more than 9,160 pounds of cocaine on a vessel located about 88 miles southeast of Socorro Island, Mexico.

The 76,140 pounds of illicit narcotics included about 61,740 pounds of cocaine and 14,400 pounds of marijuana valued at $473 million, per USCG.
