Never before has a Russian leader spent four consecutive days on Chinese soil, so Vladimir Putin's upcoming visit to his Asian neighbors can already be described as a historic event.
This is evident from statements by Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, who confirmed the duration of Putin's trip to China and announced that the trip is under preparation.
"Putin will make a completely unprecedented visit to China, preparations for which are currently underway," the spokesperson announced.
Putin's last visit to China was in May of last year and lasted two days. The Chinese president also traveled to Russia in May of this year to participate in the events commemorating the 80th anniversary of the USSR's victory in the Great Patriotic War.
