(Reuters) -Britain's Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) on Thursday said it approved gepotidacin, also known as Blujepa, a new kind of oral antibiotic pill to treat uncomplicated urinary tract infections (UTIs) in females aged 12 years and older, who weigh at least 40 kg.

The new marketing authorisation was granted on August 27 to GSK plc, the regulator added.
